Water Based Event Insurance

Most insurers are unable to provide water based events insurance due to the hazardous nature of this type of event. Our underwriters look at things differently and so long as appropriate safety measures have been taken and risk assessments carried out then we can provide public liability insurance up to £20,000,000 to ensure the protection of the event organiser.

As an organiser your duty of care towards members of members of the public and participants must be shown through thorough risk assessments and backed up with a comprehensive public liability and if required employers liability insurance policy.

Cover extends to include many different types of events including open water events such as sailing events, regattas, dinghy racing, rafting, dragon boat racing and water sports activities and festivals.

For open water events there will be a requirement to notify the emergency services and coast guard prior to the event.
